Annual Adventure & Leadership Camp for the “Unsung Heroes” of 2001 Indo Bangladesh border skimish of 21 April 2001 in which 18 BSF soldiers fall to the enemy bullets while defending the terretorial integrity of India, was held at Manali from 14th June to 18th June 2009.
A total of 34 participants including volunteers took part in the camp. The camp was dedicated to empowerement and spirit of adventure to face the challenges of life that have been thrown to these woman and children for their disadvantageous economical and emotional state that comes with the absence of a father in this male dominated society. 
The authorities of Mountaineering institute and Local Member of Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh, Mr.Govind Singh Thakur was kind enough to support the event with his gracious presence and honour these brave women and children. Overwhelming support was extended by local press and media with their presence that was very inspiring for these women and children.
