(Judiciary-Bench=Bar)Pillar of Democrcay expresses its solidarity with PRPP Campaign, day-4

Sirsa Bar association has 1082 registered Advocates as its members. The Bar association invited Team Nishan to share its views on police reforms campaign and expressed its solidarity with Team’s endevours. Speaking on the ocassion Mr.Gurdev Singh Kuka called corruption as the biggest impediment in police performance and Police-Public relationship that sans trust.

We were honoured to have been invited to address the Bar association of Sirsa district. Mr.Jagir singh Jammu took the intiative to welcome the team Nishan and introduce its members to the august gatehering of learned advocates. From Team Nishan Mr.Aridaman Jit Singh, Mr.Tobias Sheppard,Ms.Manisha Singh,Ms.Melissa Gordon & Mr.Jeetinder Singh Saund addressed the Bar members on the PRPP Campaign.Speaking on the ocassion Mr.Harnam Singh Thind, Advocate mentioned about the psyche of the masses and antiquated laws and stressed that the gap between these two is not sign of a healthy system.

Mr.Ajay Bansal, Advocate, mentioned about the Punjab Police Rules and its impact on today’s policing and need to amend them also that section 197 Cr.PC was anti democratic and needs to be done away with.

Mr.Jagdish Chopra, Advocate and Mr.Jagir singh Jammu, Advocate on behalf of complete Bar association expressed their solidarity with the Police Reforms Campaign to democratise the police in India. Team Nishan led by Aridaman jit singh and comprising of Ms.Manisha Singh and Mr.Jatinder Singh(Both advocates from UK), Ms.Melissa Gordon Ex-Special Police Officer(Uk), Mr.Tobias sheppard(UK) and Mrs.Jennifer(USA) addressed the Bar association members. All the present members of Bar association of Sirsa signed the expression of solidarity for PRPP Campaign launched by Team Nishan.
